There are some vocal effects in this music to imitate the sound of a snare drum. These sounds are made by vocalizing "chick ka ckick ka" through the flute embouchure hole. Vocalizing to the rhythm is what we are looking for.

Here are the videos of 10 of the pieces we played on July 4, 2022 in Gettysburg PA. The 35 member group rehearsed for about 1 hour and then played for 30 minutes. The age range was young teen to 80's. Most received their music within 1-2 weeks of the performance. Performers chose their own parts, with only 2 on Piccolo.
About
Flutes On The 4th
Flutes On The 4th-Gettysburg was initiated in 2022 to bring our historic hometown of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania a unique opportunity for flute players to gather and celebrate our nation’s independence day with both patriotic and civil war era music.
The music you have purchased was commissioned and arranged specifically for this event. The music is inspiring, fun to play and exclusive to this group.
Our hope is for towns across America to charter their own Flutes On The 4th by using this wonderful music. Each town can choose which songs to perform and in whatever order is best, thus creating a unique event for each town.
We couldn’t be happier to share this music with you.
Enjoy it, love it, and share it with our great nation!!
