About ERMusic
Edie Rice
ERMusic founder, Edie Rice, is an accomplished musician, conductor, and repair person. Her foundation in music started in grade school playing the clarinet and piano, and eventually other woodwind instruments. She now performs with multiple small and large ensembles in the greater Gettysburg area, playing a variety of woodwind Instruments, as needed.
Edie's desire for leading ensembles came about when her daughter's school didn't have a band program. When she inquired with the prinicipal, she was told that the job was hers if she wanted it! And that's how Edie became an elementary band director and eventual high school band director.
Since students regularly need repair for their instruments, Edie tried to save her students money by doing simple repairs herself. She asked a local repair man if she could use his shop to apprentice under him and repair her own instruments. Edie worked for many years at the repair shop and eventually opened her own at-home repair shop.
Edie earned her Master's degree in conducting from American Band College/Southern Oregon University in 2007, and has led multiple small and large ensembles in schools and the community.
Currently, she is excited about working with composer Joshua Godoy publishing the music for Flutes on the Fourth and hopes many flutists around the country will want to play the beautifully arranged patriotic music at their July 4th celebrations.
